National Provider Identifier (NPI)
Harbor-UCLA Medical Center requires that each trainee obtain an NPI number and report it to his/her department. All departments are required to inform the GME Office of trainee NPI numbers by August 15th of each year and afterwards as they are obtained by new hires.

What is the purpose of the NPI?
