The Carson Kids Health Fair was a complete success. Harbor Pediatrics residents gathered hundreds of dollars of donated school supplies for kids who spent their summer at Mills Park in Carson, California. There were backpacks, notebooks, paper, coloring books, glue, scissors, crayons, and everything else a kid needs to start the school year right.

The residents setup learning stations to give the kids lessons in nutrition, exercise, helmet safety, organs, and more.

Harbor-UCLA Trauma was on hand teaching kids about helmet safety. The kids learned that a bicycle crash can happen at any time and helmets are the single most effective way to prevent head injuries. Each child received a bicycle helmet provided through a generous pediatric trauma grant called “Richie’s Funds.”

Thank you to all who donated school supplies!
