Application Process

All applications must be made through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)

  • Applications will be accepted from September through December
  • Interviews will be granted by invitation only October through January

All applications will be reviewed when the following are received by the program:

  1. Complete ERAS application form
  2. Dean’s letter from medical school
  3. Medical school transcript
  4. Three letters of reference
  5. USMLE scores
  6. E-mail address and contact information

Interview Process

Below is a sample of a typical interview day schedule at Harbor; please check your interview invitation e-mail for exact times:

  • 10:00 A.M. – Arrival and parking
  • 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. – Meeting with program directors
  • 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. – Attend one hour of conference with the residents
  • 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. – Lunch at the Harbor-UCLA Doctor’s Cafeteria
  • 1:00 P.M. to 3:15 P.M. – Split into two groups: Group A will interview; Group B will meet with the chiefs, watch the recruitment video, and tour the ED then switch
  • 3:15 P.M. – End interview day

There is also a pre-interview social on Wednesday, the night prior to the interview day, hosted by one of our residents; please see your interview invitation for more information about the specifics.
