Maria Dungo, M.D.Program Director, Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology

Welcome to the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology

The Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellowship is a clinically and academically rigorous program with the goal of training physicians to be clinicians, educators and investigators. The program has an emphasis in preparing physicians who can confidently manage a broad spectrum of hematologic and oncologic conditions.

The program is accredited by the ACGME and has two tracks: clinical and research.

Fellowship training takes place in a variety of environments, including:

  • Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, one of the leading hospitals of the Los Angeles County Department of Health providing care to the medically underserved population
  • City of Hope, an internationally recognized National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center
  • Kaiser Permanente, one of the largest health care organizations in Southern California

Please note that the application for the research track (City of Hope/Harbor-UCLA) is not distinct from the clinical track (Harbor-UCLA/Kaiser). However, at the time you are selected for interview, you will be offered a choice of either of the two programs (or both, at the discretion of the selection committee). Both programs can be applied to with the following ERAS/ACGME ID: 1550531093.
