Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery
The Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Program (Urogynecology) at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center was among the first Urogynecology programs in the country. We have trained some of the finest FPMRS surgeons, and continue our tradition of creating a rich learning environment where trainees will master conservative and surgical approaches to Pelvic Floor Disorders. Fellows gain expertise in vaginal and laparoscopic/robotic approaches while treating our predominately underserved Los Angeles county population.
Fellows graduating from HUMC will be equipped to provide the gamut of care for women with pelvic floor disorders in private, public and academic environments. Our mission is to recruit, develop, and train outstanding humanistic and devoted Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive surgeons who are fully qualified as consultant-level subspecialists and are well-prepared to serve their community. Fellows also get exposure to our multi-disciplinary approach to patients through the Pelvic Floor Center.
Our faculty is involved in patient-centered research regarding both conservative and surgical management. Our focus is on improving the quality of care for all women, including underserved and minority women with pelvic floor disorders.
