Poverty is a significant determinant of child health, affecting not only physical health and development, but also educational achievement, emotional well-being and health into adulthood. The profound effects of childhood poverty have prompted the AAP Section on Medical Students, Residents and Fellowship Trainees to focus on the issue with its annual advocacy campaign.

Harbor-UCLA Pediatrics Residents took on the charge to FACE Poverty. They partnered with Community’s Child Organization to collect hygiene products to donate to local families in need.
