Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is the first Los Angeles County operated hospital to establish a Robotic Surgery Program to provide state-of-the-art minimally invasive surgery to lower-income patients using da Vinci systems.

With two robots (da Vinci systems), Robotic Surgery is an alternative to both open and laparoscopic surgery, enabling surgeons to perform complex surgical procedures with a greater level of precision in a 3 dimensional (3D) surgical view.

“ Robotic surgery is becoming the new standard of care.” says Jeremy Blumberg, MD, a Urologist and Director of the Robtic Surgery Steering Committee at Harbor-UCLA.” Fors a surgeon, the system provides greater depth of movement and enhanced visual clarity. Robotics is a very exciting shift in the industry that will allow health systems to continually improve quality outcomes when surgical interventions are necessary.”

Harbor has recently filmed a short video which showcases our da Vinci robots and Robotic Surgery Program in the forthcoming Los Angeles County Annual Report.
