Life Support Training

The Graduate Medical Education Office offers Life Support certification and re-certification training to Housestaff at no charge. Please see upcoming training dates and requirements below.

 

Register For Training

You will need to provide the following information when registering for a course: name, department, beeper number, previous certification expiration date. Please register via phone with the Graduate Medical Education Office 310-222-2911. If you do not attend the course you are scheduled for, and you don’t call to cancel, you may be billed for the cost of the course. 

 

ACLS/BLS Training

ACLS/BLS training is offered at Harbor-UCLA and must be scheduled through the GME Office. Upcoming course dates:

  • Re-Certification: March 6, 2010
  • Re-Certification: June 5, 2010
  • Certification - Orientation week, June 19th and 20th, 2010

 

PALS/BLS

PALS training is offered to Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatric, and Surgery trainees. The training is offered at Harbor-UCLA and must be scheduled through the GME Office. Upcoming course dates:

  • Re-Certification: March 6, 2010
  • Re-Certification: June 5, 2010
  • Certification - Orientation week, June 19th and 20th, 2010

 

ATLS

ATLS training is offered to licensed Surgery, Emergency Medicine trainees and also to OMFS trainees. ATLS courses must be scheduled through the Harbor-UCLA GME Office.  You must schedule training at least 60 days in advance of the training date as courses fill up quickly. ATLS training for Harbor trainees is conducted at Loma Linda University Medical Center. Upcoming course dates:

  • February 15-16, 2010
  • July 19-20, 2010
  • August 23-24, 2010
  • October 25-26, 2010

 

NRP

Neonatal Resuscitation training is offered to Emergency Medicine, Pediatric, OBGYN, and Family Medicine trainees. Pediatric trainees may register through the Pediatric Department. All other trainees must register through the GME Office.  Upcoming course dates:

  • TBD by Pediatrics

 

*Re-Certification courses are for people with current certification that will expire prior to the training course date.  If your certification has expired, you must take the full two day course.
