The Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Harbor-UCLA provides outstanding care for infants and children up to age 21 years with a variety of gastrointestinal conditions in a multidisciplinary setting. Harbor-UCLA Pediatric Gastroenterology is known for its endoscopy expertise. The faculty have academic appointments with David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and are committed to teaching.

Dr. Gershman completed his Pediatric Gastroenterology fellowship at UCLA. He has served as the Division Chief of Pediatric Gastroenterology at Harbor-UCLA since 1997.
His research interests include peptic ulcers in children and teenagers, intestinal effects of food allergy, and small intestine lesions in children with chronic diarrhea, malabsorption syndrome, and endoscopic semiotics of GI tract infections.
His work in endoscopy is internationally recognized and led to the publication of his textbook, Practical Pediatric Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Additionally, he is the author of over 30 book chapters.
