Call responsibilities are in-house, primarily in the Harbor Psychiatric Emergency Services Unit (PER) on weeknights, weekends, and holidays. Nurses, physicians, and caseworkers are centrally co-located in the PER.  Call duties mostly include new and follow-up evaluations of patients within the Adult Psychiatric ER,  the Adolescent Psychiatric ER, and consultations to the adult and pediatric medical emergency room.  Call responsibilities also include covering as-needed issues from the Inpatient and Consultation-Liaison Services.  Interns and residents take call shifts in-house and may contact child fellows and faculty available at all times by phone for clinical issues and supervision of cases.
